I wanted to talk about rp and somethings I have noticed as of late. I love to have a story going, I really do but I noticed that the storylines sometimes have become an obstacle to rp rather than an aide and is not supposed to be that way. We have come to rely on a few persons to provide the story and plot, and I assure you that's hard work. I think it's up to each individual to set up goals for your character, set up a reason for the existance of your character. I think the story is enriched when it all pools together in a complex web of a plot rather than if one person drags everybody into what they have designed for their characters.
Also, the second point about it that has become an obstacle is the waiting around. I think people should play their characters even if they are involved in a story. Learn to leave scenes at points of free interaction. In other words, at points where is not too strange for them to interact with other characters. Also roleplay is not streamlined! it does not occur in real time. You can go backwards and fowards (with a little more care) in time to have your characters interact with other people. It is more fufilling (at least to me) when my character knows more than one person and half of those are not npc that I (or you) had to make up.
Anyway, I'm not saying storylines are not great, I'm just saying don't fix your c's to them and leave out the opportunity to play the characters around. Or even to characters in the same storyline when the one that has been telling the story isn't around. There is always the message board for updates if you think there is something important that should be known that happened while a character wasn't around. I'm not saying mess with the concepts of other people when they are not around, respect that, always, or people might stop playing to you. At least I would, but make your own thing and add to the whole.
I'm done for now. But I'm sure I'll remember stuff I left out.

Good points, Francis!! hehehe I know I have a bit of a tendency to fall into stories and stay there. Mostly just cause I'm so busy... and so anxious to find out what happens next in a story.
It is the reason I'm creating newer characters and trying to concieves some open venues for other characters to come and get involved. Such as the brothel... Joran's needs to get up and going again thats for sure!
Players, feel free bring your suggestions here! We've had some, as you've seen, and we would looove to have new stuff happening in Dystopia.
