Soft whispers of evenings past
Murmur sweet dreams in my resting ears.
Gentle dreams of a lover’s touch
Tender kisses of dew on rose petals.
Sweet as honey, smooth as silk
Familiar as a mother’s face.
How many memories are held
In these times between waking?
Flying on the wings of angels
The sky is has no boundary
With clouds of down
And diamond stars about the pale moon.
Nothing binds this fantasy realm.
Time is still and music hushed
To only the soft winding breeze.
But sweet tunes does it play
To carry high until the coming dawn.
Though golden rays pull away from this slumber
No fear shall come, no regret set in
For in the fading light, subtle hues of twilight
Bring whispers of evenings past,
And memories come on wings of angels
With the soft murmuring breeze.
